Passion, Discipline, and the Pursuit of Excellence !!!
Across The Floor Goals
To offer exceptional programs which enable all dancers to achieve their individual maximum potential in all levels and disciplines offered, by:
- Providing a safe and fun environment
- Providing program stability and quality instruction with consistent standards across all the classes offered
To promote goodwill, sportsmanship and positive team spirit among all members, dancers and families
ATF’s Code of Conduct
Let the “teacher” TEACH!
The teacher is an expert in the field and is the key person qualified to evaluate the dancers’ performance and technique, and parents need to trust in the progressive and developmental program their dancers are attending. As a parent, your role is to be supportive of your child. The best way to help your dancer is with positive reinforcement. Encourage their effort and dedication to hard work and compliment their achievements. Always acknowledge their accomplishments in a positive way, no matter how small!
Facility Updates: ATF has closed our lobby/waiting area/kitchen and dressing rooms. Parents will not be permitted to wait in the lobby. Students will be dropped off at the front doors. Dancers are to adhere to the strict drop-off and pick-up times (approx. 10 mins before or after class). Registration must be completed ahead of time. ONLINE PAYMENTS ONLY will be accepted.
Safe Entrance and Exits: Parents/guardians will be advised to wait in their cars at drop off and wait for a positive affirmation of entrance, once their dancers have answered ATF’s required questions and have passed the temperature check. Students failing any of the questions, or who show an elevated temperature of 37.8C or above will NOT be allowed to enter the studio.
Screening Procedures and Drop-off: ATF will be implementing screening procedures before every student enters the facility. All individuals, including children, parents/guardians, employees, contractors and volunteers will be screened prior to arrival. Entry will be denied to any person who has any COVID-19 symptoms as currently listed by the Peel Public Health website. Parents/guardians must sign the online waiver of the COVID-Policy agreement upon registration. Parents/students will be required to answer pre-screening questions each time they drop-off. Students and Staff must have NO SYMPTOMS at all in order to enter the facility. ATF will keep daily records of anyone (e.g. parent/guardian, staff and visitors) entering the studio setting who stays for 15 minutes or longer. This protocol will facilitate contact tracing in the event of a confirmed COVID-19 case or outbreak.
Hygiene: Employees, contractors, volunteers, and students will be advised to sanitize their hands upon entry and as often as needed, with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, or use 70% approved hand sanitizer. Upon entry and exit of the facility, before and after they use the restroom, and anytime as needed. Everyone will be encouraged to follow respiratory etiquette (e.g. coughing or sneezing into a bent elbow, promptly disposing of used tissues in the trash). The use of trash cans will not require touching.
- Wear your mask transitioning to your classroom. You may wear your mask in all classes, however, if you need a break or need to adjust, you can do so only when you are physically distanced from others.?
- Please wear your mask when in the bathroom. Please flush toilets with the toilet seat cover down. Sanitize your hands before entering the bathroom and wash your hands after using the bathroom.
Sanitization practices: Frequently touched surfaces (doorknobs, light switches, toilet handles, sinks, barres, etc) will be disinfected frequently. Disposable towels and spray cleaners, or disposable wipes, will be made available to regularly clean and disinfect commonly used surfaces. The studio will be sanitized each evening or following morning, with the use of a fogging machine. The fogging machine will be used to ensure hard to reach areas are disinfected. We are happy to introduce CITRON Hygiene to ensure our facility is sanitized in the safest way possible.
Staff Training: Staff will be well trained to recognize and look out for symptoms and separate the student/send them home. They will also learn all protocols related to managing situations where a student or staff member is showing symptoms.
Masks: All students are required to wear a mask when entering/exiting the building. Masks will also need to be worn in the hallways and bathrooms. It is up to each individual dancer and their family if they wish to continue to wear their mask on the dancefloor, during class time. Monitoring exercise intensity is always essential for a safe and effective class, with or without wearing a face covering.
Class Format: Every class will be offered in-person (with limited spots available) but an option of streamed online class for those not comfortable with in-studio classes will be offered. Due to capacity limitations, makeup classes can no longer be offered. In the event that a student can not attend in-person, they can attend online with a minimum of 24hr notice. This will further help keep non-symptomatic students and staff at the studio safe.
Refund/cancellation policy:
- Registration fees are non-refundable.
- No refunds on missed classes
- No refunds on classes cancelled due to uncontrollable circumstances (weather, building emergency, natural disasters, pandemics etc)
- No refunds on costume deposits or recital tickets
- Credits cannot be transferred between dancers
- A notice of withdrawal must be received 14 business days prior to the payment date for the following installment.
- Once payment is made, that term/month will be forfeited. The remaining payments will be credited or refunded minus the administrative fee.
Recreational Classes: No credits or refunds for remaining classes in a term will be issued in the event of a government-mandated lockdown or a 48-hour closure due to studio sanitization. Classes will then migrate to an online platform until the end of the term. For subsequent terms, students can choose to continue online or request a withdrawal without penalty.
Competitive Classes: In the event of a studio closure due to a government-mandated lockdown, the studio will adapt its competitive training schedules for its athletes throughout the competitive season. The studio will not offer credits or refunds for the remaining month in any given term in the event of a lockdown or a 48-hour closure due to studio sanitization.
Should changes need to occur, some changes could impact:
- The format of how training is delivered (in-studio versus online classes)
- The total number of training hours per week
Classes could migrate to an online platform until the end of the term, should a government-mandated lockdown continue. For subsequent terms, students can choose to continue online or request a withdrawal without penalty.
